Tens of thousands of people travel on London's buses every day.
Set in the late sixties, this story follows the lives of some of the passengers who frequented London Transport's daily route 217, which ran out of Enfield (Ponders End) Garage, as well as some of the staff. This service, at the time using Regent Type (RT) buses, ran daily from Upshire in Essex, through Waltham Abbey, Waltham Cross, Enfield, Edmonton and Tottenham, to terminate initially at Alexandra Park and, at a later date, at Turnpike Lane Station. 
Some of their stories are amusing, some are sad, mundane and uneventful while others are tragic beyond belief.
