Until recently, bronchiectasis, or BE, was considered a rare disease with less than 200,000 cases in the United States. However, with the increased use of CT scans as well as a heightened awareness within the medical community, bronchiectasis is being diagnosed more than ever. It is believed that a significant percentage of the 20 million Americans with COPD have underlying bronchiectasis. And, now, with the COVID-19 pandemic, it is likely the projected number of cases will be even higher.
Although BE is permanent, the disease can be effectively managed and its spread mitigated or even prevented. Ms. Esposito has developed the BE CLEAR Method with this goal in mind.
